Christmas Card 2010

This is our Christmas card for 2010.
What a wonderful and busy year we have had. So many wonderful memories and pictures it was so hard to pick just a few for the card. I could have made photo books for our cards! We took two wonderful vacation this year. One to Destin, Florida and one to San Antonio, Texas. Destin is one of our favorite places to go, we had a blast. This was Maggie and Marley's first beach trip, and they loved it! We look forward to this trip every summer. So many good times there and memories.
We also went to San Antonio this summer to visit my Great Aunt, Sister Geraldine. She is a nun and lives at Our Lady of the Lake Convent. We went with my mom, my Aunt Pat, Uncle Sonny and Nan. It was a wonderful trip and we all had a wonderful time visiting and doing a little sight seeing. On the way home we stopped in Katy, the new home of my sister and brother-in-law. That was not a happy point of our year, but we are happy for them in their new adventures of their life. Just wish they were closer.
Also, we won the SUPERBOWL :)
GO SAINTS!!!
Had to throw that in since that is one of our pictures that made the card :)
Too many memories and good times to list, but they are all documented in pictures and in our hearts. We are all so blessed to have each other and I am so thankful that we are healthy. I hope all the years to come are filled with as much joy as 2010 has been.
MERRY CHRISTMAS

The Start of the Elf On The Shelf Tradition

Nick, the Elf stopped by today,
To help Santa know if he should come our way.
You better be good, you better not fight,
So a good report he can give Santa tonight!
He'll return each day in a new spot,
To remind us to be good, in case we forgot!

Master Bedroom

This week on Show Us Your Life, over at Kelly's Korner, they are touring Master Bedrooms.
I love our bedroom. It is not big at all, but it has everything we want, need and love. My nightstand belonged to my husband's great-grandmother, and a few years ago my mother-in-law gave it to me for Mother's Day! I love it and it means so much to me. This room is the perfect room for us to end all of our busy days!

Living Room

A blog I follow, Kelly's Korner, is doing a Show Us Where You Live, and this week is Living Rooms. I thought it would be fun to post mine since we just finished it. I LOVE the way it turned out, better than I thought, and is so nice and relaxing to us all. We have spent so much more time in here, watching tv, playing the wii and just hanging out as a family! And yes, I did get the 2 WHITE sofa's that I wanted! And I LOVE them! What???...you think I am crazy?!, just because I have 4 kids, a husband that loves to play in the mud and a dog?! It's all good : )

Thanks to my wonderful hubby for helping with all of the fun painting projects! You are the best! A little time, elbow grease and paint made such a difference and they came out wonderful. Also, thank you for making me my beautiful mirror, it came out great. It is just what I wanted and a whole lot cheaper than a store bought one of that size, plus, it was made by my hubby, even better :)

My New Goal

Well, my new goal is to start making more entries!!! I started this blog to have it as a keepsake and a journal for my children one day. But, with most things these days, time is not something I have alot of! I have so many things I want to put on here, and days turn to weeks and weeks to months, I need to set a time for this just like everything else! So, I am going to try and get better at this and now I have a few way past due entries to make :)

Not One, But Two

After ALL the excitement in our house because of this lost tooth, Molly lost another one that same night! Yes, after waiting her WHOLE life to loose a tooth, she lost two on the same day! She was so excited. She posed for a quick picture of her even bigger toothless smile and hurried to bed.
She was up VERY early the next morning to see what she had under her pillow....
$10.00 and some Fairy Dust!
WOW, $10 and Fairy Dust, how lucky and cool was that!
And yes, she went to school that morning covered in Fairy Dust! (AKA GLITTER)
Yep, school must have been wondering what goes on in this house that my child went to school covered in glitter. HELLO it was Fairy Dust :) I know Molly shined a little brighter that day!

Molly Lost A Tooth!

Well, the day has FINALLY come....Molly lost her first tooth! You do know that she has been waiting her WHOLE life for this, right? Yes, her WHOLE life and today it finally happened!
She has been wanting a loose tooth since she found out they become loose! And of course, it took her tooth FOREVER to become loose. Then, after all this time of waiting (her whole life, remember?!) her tooth finally became loose and fell out today! (We have been waiting for two weeks for this day, a very long two weeks might I add. Two weeks of wiggling and pulling. That tooth did not want to come out, had it not heard she has been waiting her whole life for this??? Please hurry little tooth we would pray, please fall out soon!)
She lost her tooth at school and came home with a very big, toothless smile and waving a baggie containing that special tooth with a big sticker on it saying "Hooray! Hooray! I lost a Tooth Today!" What a wonderful day and now she cannot wait a second longer to go to sleep so the Tooth Fairy can come!

Cogratulations Molly!

Welcome Home

It is hard to believe that today makes a year that we were finally able to bring our beautiful baby girls home. Maggie and Marley were born 8 weeks premature and had to spend 5 weeks in the NICU. That was one of the hardest things our family had to go through. Ben and I spent mornings, evenings and nights by their sides. Watching them, praying for them and longing for the day we could take them home and hold them and kiss them all day and night. Some days we could not even touch them, that broke my heart. I didn't get to hold Marley until she was 5 days old, that was hard for me. Clayton and Molly didn't understand. Their babies were finally born, yet they could not see them or hold them. Pictures were not good enough for them. It was 5 weeks of ups and downs. Good news visits and bad news visits. Some days I just sat there and cried wondering if they were ever going to let me have them. Finally, on March 3 we were able to take our babies home and let them meet their big brother and their big sister. What a happy day that was. I can still see the smiles on Clayton and Molly's faces when they walked in from school and saw those babies. They were real and they were home!

What a difference a year has made. Everyday they are getting bigger and stronger. Everyday they are learning new things. Everyday they make me smile a little bigger. They are where they belong, home with us!

Mardi Gras Marathon 2010

Sunday, February 28, 2010, the Mardi Gras Marathon took place in New Orleans. My husband, Ben, mother-in-law, Shirley, father-in-law, Henry and brother-in-law, Derek all took part in running the half marathon. (13.1 miles) They all did AWESOME!! My sister-in-law, Melissa and I along with Clayton, Molly, Maggie and Marley cheered them all on at the finish line. It was a beautiful day and we all had a great time.

This was Ben's first marathon. He has been working hard training for this and on Sunday his time and effort paid off. He completed the marathon in 2 hours, 35 minutes!

WAY TO GO BEN!

A Happy, Happy Day

What a perfect and happy day it was as we celebrated Maggie and Marley's first birthday. We were joined by family and friends who helped make the day so very special. The girls were "tutu" cute! We sang to each of them and they enjoyed their taste of cake and icing very much!
Happy Birthday Girls!

Party Mode

The big day is fast approaching.....Maggie and Marley are turning ONE!!!! Have lots to do to get ready for their big day. Will be making candies in between naps and gearing up for Saturday night when I bake cupcakes :) It is all so fun to me, and I love every second of it....from picking out the "theme" and colors, to making the invitations and planning the food list. Making candy suckers and chocolate dipped marshmallows and baking at least 80 cupcakes....it is all so fun and worth every second to give my kids a day all about them. Can't wait to spend the day with great friends and family and celebrate two of the most perfect gifts I have ever received. Hope to see everyone on Sunday :)

Here's to Blogging....

Well.....I decided to start a blog :) Don't really know where to begin, but we'll see where this goes! I am a wife to my wonderful husband, Ben. I am a mom to my four wonderful children, Clayton (9), Molly (6), and twin girls, Maggie and Marley who will be 1 in ten days! I am a stay-at-home mom and I love it, wouldn't trade it for the world. My family is my life, they are my whole world, they are the smile on my face.

I enjoy simple things, like scrapbooking and gardening. Baking and decorating. Shopping and reading. I love Martha Stewart! I love wrapping paper and ribbon and making my own cards, don't get me started....I could go on and on all day about that stuff :) I love Disney World, it is one of the happiest places on earth you know :) I love hanging out at home with my family and friends. I love watching my children grow and learn and discover new things. I love seeing life through their eyes.

Hope to have the time to keep this up to date and learn how to add photos and everything else that can be done. For those of you who ever read this, I hope you enjoy :)
